Conceptual Renovation Project of Qingdao Sculpture Park

The original site of this project is a coastal park with lots of sculptures. Because there are few visitors and the maintenance costs are high, the government decides to renovate the park with commercial function, so as to well utilize advantages of the environment, i.e. unify commercial operations and art. This planning lists several cultural commercial projects with the character of Shandong. The planning of this base requires temporary buildings instead of permanent ones, so we reuse many shipping containers to make stores. This idea comes from resource advantages of Qingdao, which is one of the most important container bases in China, and the combination of containers become the feature of temporary buildings.
